A rare grape with high anthocyanin content

PhytoCellTecTM Solar Vitis grape stem cells are based on the Teinturier Freaux grape in Gamai. This variety comes from The Burgundy region of France and has a particularly high anthocyanin content, so its flesh and juice are bright red.

Most red grape varieties have white flesh under the skin, but in the Teinturier Freaux grape, both the skin and flesh contain the pigment anthocyanin, which is bright red.

Anthocyanins are powerful antioxidants and free radical scavenger. They act as "sun protection" by absorbing ultraviolet light. Its sun protection is further enhanced by interaction with other phytochemicals present in grapes.

In addition to anthocyanins, this grape variety is also very high in tannins, which contributes to the poor taste of the wine, and this grape variety has almost completely disappeared.

Revolutionary technology to protect skin stem cells against photoaging

PhytoCellTecTMSolarVitis grape stem cells are developed based on rare red meat grape stem cells with high uv tolerance.

Uv radiation is responsible for 80 percent of facial aging. Even with sunscreen, UV rays can produce toxins and oxides on the skin. This affects the cells to which we are most sensitive -- the small but essential epidermal stem cells. Therefore, protecting them from uv exposure is very important.

Using our unique PhytoCellTec™ technology, we extracted stem cells from a rare grape variety from Gamai, France, and produced a water-soluble powder. These grape stem cells contain special epigenetic factors and metabolites that protect human skin stem cells from ultraviolet light.

Protection of epidermal stem cells against UV stress (in vitro)

We obtained epidermal stem cells by the method described above, and then prepared two groups of stem cells respectively:
1) No PhytoCellTecTM Solar Vitis raisins were added Epidermal stem cells of cells
2) Epidermal stem cells with added PhytoCellTecTM Solar Vitis grape stem cells

Finally, some stem cells from groups (1) and (2) were taken and irradiated with 450KJ/M2 UVA+UVB rays, while others were not. We then measured CFE of epidermal stem cells.
• Results confirmed that PhytoCellTecTM Solar Vitis grape stem cells increased THE CFE of epidermal stem cells.
• Results also showed a 58% reduction in CFE when epidermal stem cells were exposed to UV (control group).

But epidermal stem cells added with PhytoCellTecTM Solar Vitis grape stem cells were able to fully counteract the effects of UV: their CFE remained at the same level.

This clearly shows that PhytoCellTecTM Solar Vitis grape stem cells can effectively protect epidermal stem cells from uv induced stress.

Protection of skin against UV Stress (Clinical testing)

We evaluated the ability of PhytoCellTecTM Solar Vitis grape stem cells to protect skin against ultraviolet rays by determining the minimum amount of erythema (MED). MED is the minimum dose of UV required to cause the mildest visible erythema (redness) 24 hours after skin exposure to UV. Thus, it is a measure of the effect of ultraviolet light on the skin.
 
We used ultraviolet rays from a sun simulator to irradiate the skin and evaluated the redness of the skin appearance 24 hours later to determine the MED value.
 
Prior to the study, MED values were determined on the untreated skin of 20 volunteers aged 19-63 years.
 
Then, in both test areas, we used them separately
1) SPF 10 sunscreen with 0.4% PhytoCellTecTM Solar Vitis grape stem cells
2) SPF 10 sunscreen without PhytoCellTecTM Solar Vitis grape stem cells
• Next, we irradiate the skin with a specific dose of UV that is equal to the MED range XSPF.
• At 24 hours, assess skin redness again
 
The results showed that PhytoCellTecTM Solar Vitis grape stem cell extract significantly increased MED value compared with the control group. Skin can withstand 25 percent more uv doses, which is the equivalent of increasing SPF from 10 to 13.
